As a reseller that has also had garage sales in the past I hate early birds. Especially when it’s noted in garage sale ad “No Earlybirds”. I think it’s beyond disrespectful to the person having the garage sale. 5 or 10 minutes is one thing ( if we are all set up). Anything more than that is tacky, rude, pushy, and greedy looking. A start time given for a reason.

I can beat your Karen. I was at a sale with a gate this weekend. A crowd formed, waiting for it to open, most people were walking, because it was like 40 feet, but two people in cars. As they were addressing the crowd one car started inching forward while the gate was still closed. I gave him a, "Calm down gesture". He kept jerking forward being obnoxious. I started to mock him as if I was racing him. He then jerks the car towards me and I slammed his hood. He parked, got out, and tried to get in my face. I ignored him and that made him even madder. The people running the sale told him to calm down.

Dude was just pissed that he didn't get what he was wanting. Sorry bout his luck. Most people will put No early birds if they don't want people showing up early. Of course, there will always be the ones that disregard that and it's up to the person having the sale to tell them no or welcome them early. I've had people tell me come on in and look and I've also had people say to come back at their opening time, and I respect that. That guy was early as well, so he had no room to talk, especially since he had been trying to buy the stuff on messenger, aka early. lol You got some great deals at that sale. That Picachu that Jessica got probably just needs new batteries. My sons toys like that would act that way when the batteries were dying. Great job on your pickups, you two!

My family does a garage sale every could years together. We load the tables up in the garage so that when the garage door opens we can move tables down the driveway. That said, we've had people circle the garage trying to peek in, knock on the garage door early and ask if we're opening soon, lined up down the street. One of the sales I sold video games and some consoles that had people checking immediately for them and wanting them. Arriving a little early is almost common place in a garage sale you're setting up. You can ASK if they're open and if it's OK to start early and if they say no, you just wait. It's polite and asking is not rude.

Question for the Pro Picking Princess and Warehouse boy. Do you guys go to sub sales every year in the same subs?? Not sure if every damn sub around me is doodoo, but it is always the same homes and same crap every year. I seem to have better luck doing the random homes doing sales, rather than subs.

The black and the gray and white Coach were absolutely fakes…look at the side seams and how the letters don’t line up…Coach is meticulous about there seams!

The thing is, not everyone is open about being a reseller. You’re super open and it’s obvious that you’re filming and most people are fine with it…. they have items for sale so what’s the difference who buys them? But people get their feelings all twisted about lots of things. He’ll end up selling to a bunch of pickers anyway. He just won’t know it.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news again but all the Coach Purses I'm 99% sure are fake. Ebay used to have some expert guides on designer and high end items that are worth the education. Not sure if they are still available. Anyway...stitching, leather, weight, lining material should be something you could learn in general for all handbags. When you see peeling, plastic or sloppy stitching its a fake. Even though Coach is not Chanel they still offered a quality bag that should show it. I have also found that if you ask the sellers if they are fake they will usually be truthful. Sorry!

You have to be the early bird. Early in my picking career I missed out on a huge deal because I was being "respectful". Huge box of cart video game stuff for super cheap. I was waiting in the car for 10 minutes until the time their sign said. Guy pulled right up and got the box.

Do you test all those video games or just check for scratches??

Should had picked up the coach checkbook wallet. It was vintage but still sells for good $. All those were vintage but vintage Coach can fetch a good amount, maybe should had made an offer on the box ?

I probably wouldn't have been able to resist butting in and pointing out that he was early too so he needed to practice what he preached. I try not to be early because I feel like it's rude, most of the of time when I know I'm early I just stay in my car until the time they specified but if they already have people shopping I don't wait. That seller had some awesome deals, though! And when you were doing the second recap I was yelling "use the golf clubs!" to pull the stuff down to the end of the truck, lol.

I was gobsmacked about the body sculpter. Holy moly!

If I'm running a sale, I welcome early birds. If an item is on a garage sale for me I'm just trying to get rid of it so if somebody wants to show up early, give me the money and shorten my day I'm all for it.

10 minutes early isn't early birding. Early birding is when people show up for a 9am sale at 6:30am pounding on the host's front door begging for video games like crack.

31:18 that leather jacket wow I can’t believe they sold it for five dollars. I don’t even think I would’ve sold it at the garage sale for less than $20. Looks like really good leather definitely give me the Indiana Jones vibes which my husband likes.

I hate when people bash early birds in 99% of the times if someone shows up at 9:00am or 8:00am the sales already had 4 people and all the good stuff is gone.. I’m an early bird and have been one for 45 years all the way back when I was a little kid would go with my parents and it pays off and most of the times nobody cares less I would say 1 out of 20 sales someone will say something… Last week I got to the neighborhood sale that opened @ 8am around 6-6:15am and only drove around about 15 mins before I hit my first sale where I hit some great stuff and to top it off it was an older man and I asked for video games and he said NO BUT hold on and he yelled to his neighbor and asked and his neighbor said YES and I scored a box full of PS1 and PS2 which had some killer games in it like a ps2 Silent Hill 3 😉

. If you're happy with your price until someone does your work for you, you are not justified either. Do your research or stop caring. Clean out that mess. Also, people should not get upset over re-sellers. They are doing quite a bit of work, where we're just haveing a yardsale. Half our stuff would never leave without them around.
